Join us for an inspiring weekend of workshops, music, demonstrations, and exhibits promoting green living!  We now have 26 great organizations signed up as exhibitors, 9 engaging hands-on workshops (including 3 for kids), 3 excellent musical performance groups, and 2 families hosting green living tours of their homesteads.  There will also be fresh healthy food, wonderful company, and (we’re hoping) beautiful weather for enjoying Bloomington’s largest downtown park.

Workshop topics this year include backyard chickens, green finances, worm composting, trashion fashion, permaculture basics, and more.  There will also be plenty of time for networking and relaxing.  Have a solar cooker?  Bring it to set up at the park!  We’ll also have solar panels to demonstrate and a variety of green goodies in our benefit raffle including a rain barrel and a worm bin.

All Saturday events are free (music, workshops, demonstrations, exhibits) with food & green products available for purchase.  On Sunday, tickets for our green living tours are $15 each with proceeds benefiting the Center for Sustainable Living.  This is a great way to see how two local families are living green.  Keith Johnson & Peter Bane have a fabulous homestead using permaculture principles to grow a bounty of food while also minimizing their carbon footprint.  Pam & Woodie Bessler are paving the way for solar power by showing how they reduced their energy usage nearly 50% without sacrificing their standard of living and then found out it was a reasonable investment to meet their electrical needs with photovoltaic panels.
